Custom Longarm Quilting

I have been longarm quilting for over 20 years. I quilt your quilts on one of my two Gammill Statler Stitchers computerized machines. The Gammill is know for its excellent stitch quality and beautiful quilting designs.

The services I provide are exclusively digital edge-to-edge designs. This means that the quilting will be uniform across the quilt top and not area-specific. My goal as a quilter is to make the quilting look custom by the way I carefully select the quilting design to match your quilt top

Quilt Prep

For best results, press your quilt top and backing.
If your quilt has no borders, stitch 1/8” around the outside edges of your quilt. This will keep your seams from splitting.
Clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads shadowing through your quilt top, don’t skip this very important step!
Backing must be at least 5″ larger than the quilt top on Top, Botton and both sides. This allows me to load your quilt properly to the frame. Additional fees will be billed if I have to add additional yardage to make the backing large enough to load.
Mark the top of the quilt with a pin and post it note, do this for both the quilt top and the backing if your quilt is directional. If this is not done, I will not be responsible for directional mistakes.
For best results, quilt top & backing must be square to prevent puckers. I will not be responsible for puckers if any quilts have long borders causing wave, no refunds will be issued. I will contact you if I think there may be a problem and we can discuss some options. I will do my very best to keep it flat and have some great tricks.

Backing

We have several backing options:

Choose a fabric from the BellaRoseQuilts.com website. We will piece backing at no additional charge.
You can send your own backing fabric with an additional 10” added to length and 10” added to width. For example: a 50” x 50” quilt top needs a 60” x 60” backing. We will seam your backing for $10 per seam.
I want to purchase Minky/cuddle/Lux for the back of my quilt. We can discuss options at time of quilt submittal.

Batting

I use Quilters Dream Batting as they use the finest fibers and state of the art manufacturing to bring you quilt batting of unsurpassed quality and consistency. They use the softest silkiest high-quality fibers so that your quilt will resist shrinkage and stay soft yet strong and wonderfully drapeable. Each batt is hand cut and carefully inspected. I also use Hobbs Tuscany 100% washable wool, wool blend, and silk.

Pricing is based on current cotton prices and shipping fees charged to me. Batting cost will be quoted at the time of quilting. Batting pricing is separate from quilting fee. I have the below batting options. If you would like something different, please let me know in the comments section on your quilt intake form.

Shipping

When you ship your quilt to me, please secure in a plastic bag, include your contact info inside the bag, and then place in box. Tape box well.
I recommend insurance for the amount of your fabric and time.
Return shipping is a flat rate of $20 and includes insurance. I ship through USPS Priority Mail. The $20 will be added to your invoice.

Quilt Trimming

I offer three trimming options:

Trim my quilt even with the border.
Leave 1/2” around outside edge of quilt
Do not trim my quilt.

Quilting Pricing

Pricing is based on chosen design and stitch density. There are three categories:

Loose – .025 per square inch
Medium – .027 per square inch
Dense – .030 per square inch
Micro – .040 per square inch

Thread is included in the price of your quilting. We use So Fine and Glide thread.
